Cage Warriors have announced that Englishman Omiel Brown is set to take on Brazilian fighter Junior Orgulho on the promotion’s New Year’s Eve card.

Cage Warriors 148 will take place in four days time at the Indigo O2, London, and will see Team Europe battle against Team USA in an already stacked card.

Fighters are still yet to be announced despite the short period left before the event, and the latest bout to be added is between welterweight duo Brown and Orgulho.

The former fights out of ‘Team Renegade BJJ‘, a gym well-known for its abundance of talented athletes, inlcuding UFC welterweight champion Leon ‘Rocky‘ Edwards.

Brown has experienced an explosive beginning to his professional MMA career, and comes into the bout with a record of 4-1, his sole loss coming via split decision to Irishman James Sheehan.

All four of the Englishman’s victories have come in devastating fashion, with two first round guillotine chokes and two knockouts arriving in the second and first rounds respectively.

A ferocious fighter, Brown will be entering the octagon on New Year’s Eve on short notice, as will his opponent, the experienced Orgulho.

The 32-year-old comes into the contest with a professional record of 16-9. This will be his Cage Warriors debut, having fought for a number of years in promotions such as Katana and Paraiba.

Orgulho is an expert in finishing fights, with 14 of his 16 wins ending before the final bell. The Brazilian is fighting off the back of a duo of losses to Murad Abdulaev and Ilyas Khamzin, via decision and TKO respectively.

This bout is set to open the Cage Warriors 148 card at present, although more fights are yet to be announced. English fans will certainly be hoping to see Brown continue his dominative streak as he makes his way through the rankings at 170 lbs.
