The fight marks Gallagher’s (11-2) return to the octagon following a 16-month hiatus, his last bout resulting in a third round submission loss to Patchy Mix at Bellator 270 in Dublin.
‘The Strabanimal‘ is currently residing eighth in the promotion’s bantamweight rankings, despite the prolonged period outside the spotlight, and he will be looking to climb the table once again.
His opponent, Higo (21-6), is ranked one place above him, and the Brazilian comes into the contest off the back of a unanimous decision loss to #5 rated Danny Sabatello.
Prior to this defeat, ‘Pitbull‘ had been on a three-fight winning streak, and similarly to Gallagher will be hoping to bounce back with an addition to the win column.
Most MMA fans originally believed Gallagher’s next matchup would be against Brett Johns given the duo were meant to have fought last September at the 3Arena in Dublin. The 26-year-old, however, withdrew from the bout, and the pair have since been trading insults towards each other on social media.
You’re boring as fuck that’s what’s happening. They don’t want you to fight me,as there’s so many better options. But you’re not getting away that easy from me. You are all clowns.

Fans of ‘The Strabanimal‘ will be hoping he can remain injury-free in the lead up to Bellator 292, and a victory may allow the Irishman to take on other rivals within the Bellator bantamweight rankings.
