The capital of the emerald isle has provided Cage Warriors with many moments to add to the scrapbook of memories in the promotion’s decorated history and has given rise to a fresh crop of generational talent in the process. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a shamrock of undivided unity ready to beat on victory’s drum at Cage Warriors 153 on April 29 in the organization’s return to the 3 Arena in Dublin. A professional mixed martial artist since August 2021 and representing Fight Academy Ireland, Paddy McCory owns a 2-1 record through three bouts comprised of one submission and one knockout. McCory fought for Cage Conflict prior to debuting with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 145 in November 2022. He has finished both of his victories during his time in the professional ranks. Each of McCory’s wins over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter have come inside the opening round, with two first round finishes under his belt to show for it. McCory has two finishes under his belt in three appearances as a professional mixed martial artist thus far. He has yet to make it past the opening round during his pro career.
In his MMA debut at Cage Conflict 4 he faced Petru Plesa and went on to knock him out in round one to earn his first knockout win as a professional. Then at Cage Conflict 5 Resistance, McCory submitted Cathal Manning in the first round via rear-naked choke. The win earned McCory the first submission victory of his professional career. He also picked up his second first-round finish in the process in addition to securing back-to-back victories with Cage Conflict.
For his second appearance under the Cage Warriors banner at Cage Warriors 153 on April 29, he will face Angus Hewett in an encounter at middleweight. Good luck Paddy!
