A professional mixed martial artist since June 2021 and representing The Dojo Karate Academy, Zach Borrego holds a 5-1 record through six contests comprised of four knockouts and one decision. Borrego appeared on week three during the sixth season of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2022. The majority of Borrego’s victories during his career as a professional MMA fighter have come inside the opening round. He has gone to the scorecards once during his time in the professional ranks, sweeping them clean across the board in that instance Borrego is 4-0 under the Fury Fighting Championship banner, with three finishes under his belt for the organization. He has four first-round finishes in six appearances as a professional mixed martial artist so far.

In his MMA debut, he faced Kirklyn Sorrel and went on to knock him out in round one. Borrego defeated James Neville via technical knockout in the first round in his promotional debut with Fury Fighting Championship at Fury FC 56. Then at Fury FC 63, he defeated William Vandervier via TKO in round one. Borrego defeated Tommie Britton via unanimous decision at Fury FC 65 to earn his first decision win as a professional.

At Fury FC 73, he defeated Tyler Smith via technical knockout in the first round. The victory earned Borrego the fourth knockout win of his professional career.
