Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Ander Sanchez

The Cage Warriors flyweight division has produced many of Europe’s staunchest warriors in recent years from Neil Seery to Jake Hadley. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a matador of golden flame ready to bathe the division in Spanish treasure as the promotion’s latest man of the hour. A professional mixed martial artist since April 2022 and representing MMA La Vega, Ander Sanchez holds a 2-1 record through three bouts comprised of one submission and one knockout. Sanchez has spent his entire career as a professional MMA fighter with Cage Warriors so far. He is 2-1 under the Cage Warriors banner, with two finishes under his belt for the organization. Both of Sanchez’s victories during his time in the professional ranks have been inside the distance. Sanchez has a single first-round finish under his belt to go along with one second-round finish in three appearances during his time as a professional mixed martial artist.

In his professional MMA debut and promotion debut with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 135, he faced Connor Wilson and went on to knock him out in the first round to earn his first and only knockout win as a professional thus far. Then in his third appearance with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 151, Sanchez submitted Ryan Hewitt in the second round via heel hook. The victory earned Sanchez the first submission victory of his professional career. He also picked victory number two under the Cage Warriors banner in the process in addition to securing his second finish with the promotion. Be it standing high and tight in the eye of an oncoming storm or searching for a tapout on the floor, the division just might have a new captain at the helm!
