UFC London has landed its first heavy-hitting fight. Undefeated heavyweight Mick Parkin is set to take on Jamal Pogues according to an announcement made by Iridium Sports Agency’s Instagram.

Sunderland’s Parkin will put his undefeated status on the line in his UFC debut, after a first round submission win over Eduardo Jose Neves on Dana White’s Contender Series last August.

The victory earned him not only the first submission win of his career, but a UFC contract and a shot at the big leagues. He seeks to make his record 7:0 as a professional.

Coming into enemy territory is Jamal “Stormtrooper” Pogues, who will look to go 2:0 in the UFC. After a second shot on Dana White’s Contender Series saw him finally earn a place in the promotion, Pogues made his debut earlier this February where he beat Josh Parisian by unanimous decision.

Now a veteran of thirteen fights, “Stormtrooper” will look to derail Parkin in his home country and extend his winning streak to four in a row.

This is only the second announced fight for the event, alongside Molly McCann vs. Julija Stoliarenko. It is currently scheduled to take place on July 22nd at the O2 Arena.
