UFC Charlotte: Rozenstruik vs. Almeida Results

UFC on ABC 4 saw some thrilling fights that left fans on the edge of their seats. The event took place on May 13, 2023, at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it did not disappoint. There were some amazing performances that made the night one to remember. Here’s a recap of all the action.

Main Card

In the main event of the evening, Jailton Almeida defeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik by submission (rear-naked choke) in the first round. Almeida wasted no time and took Rozenstruik down early in the round. He quickly took Rozenstruik’s back and secured the choke for the win.

In the co-main event, Johnny Walker faced off against Anthony Smith. It was a close fight, but Walker took the win by unanimous decision (29–28, 30–27, 30–27). Walker was able to land more significant strikes and control the pace of the fight throughout the three rounds.

Welterweight Ian Machado Garry made a statement with his performance against Daniel Rodriguez. Garry landed a head kick followed by some punches, which led to a TKO win in the first round.

Carlos Ulberg also had an impressive performance in his light heavyweight bout against Ihor Potieria. Ulberg was able to land some heavy punches, which resulted in a TKO win in the first round.

Alex Morono defeated Tim Means by submission (guillotine choke) in the second round. Morono was able to secure the choke after a scramble on the ground, which forced Means to tap out.

Preliminary Card

Matt Brown delivered a devastating KO in the first round against Court McGee. Brown landed a powerful punch that sent McGee to the canvas and earned Brown a well-deserved bonus for Performance of the Night.

In the heavyweight bout between Karl Williams and Chase Sherman, Williams took the win by unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 29–28). Williams was able to control the fight with his grappling and secure takedowns throughout the three rounds.

Douglas Silva de Andrade defeated Cody Stamann by unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 29–28) in a catchweight (140 lb) bout. Silva de Andrade was able to land more significant strikes and control the pace of the fight, which earned him the win.

In a women’s flyweight bout, Mandy Böhm defeated Kim Ji-yeon by technical decision (split) (27–28, 28–27, 28–27) after Kim was deducted points for striking Böhm after the bell and an illegal knee that rendered Böhm unable to continue. The fight was stopped in the third round, and Böhm was declared the winner.

In a catchweight (173 lb) bout, Bryan Battle delivered a quick KO in the first round against Gabriel Green. Battle landed a powerful punch that sent Green to the canvas, earning him a Performance of the Night bonus.

In the final fight of the night, Tainara Lisboa defeated Jessica-Rose Clark by submission (rear-naked choke) in the third round. Lisboa was able to take Clark’s back and secure the choke for the win.

Bonus Awards and Records Set

Fighters who delivered exceptional performances were recognized with bonuses. Jailton Almeida, Ian Machado Garry, Carlos Ulberg, Matt Brown, and Bryan Battle were awarded Performance of the Night bonuses.

This event also set a record for the highest-attended UFC Fight Night event in the United States with 18,712 people in attendance.

In conclusion, UFC on ABC 4 was a night to remember, with some incredible performances from the fighters who stepped into the Octagon. From the very first fight of the night, it was clear that the athletes were bringing their A-game and ready to put on a show for the fans in attendance and watching from home.
