A huge featherweight contest has been added to CW 157: London, as Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – have confirmed the addition of ‘The Last Pirate’ Morgan Charriere vs Diego ‘Magrinho’ Silva to the bill.
The pair will feature on the main card of CW 157, as Cage Warriors once again kicks off a huge weekend of MMA in the United Kingdom from the indigo at The O2 on Friday, July 21st.
‘The Last Pirate’ (17-9-1) comes into the bout hot on the heels of a stand-out performance at Dublin’s 3Arena in April, which saw him survive a unique reverse-triangle attempt to brutalise Brazilian submission stylist Pedro Souza with some hellacious ground and pound.
With Souza unable to answer the call for the second round, the Frenchman picked up his 17th professional victory; his fifth under the CW banner.
The former featherweight champion – known for his massive fan following – has only lost to CW title holders in the famous yellow gloves.
Diego Silva (15-8) brings a wealth of international experience into the bout, having competed extensively in the US and Europe, as well as his home nation of Brazil.
‘Magrinho’ was originally flown into Dublin as a backup opponent for Charriere at CW 154, and immediately called for the fight following the latter’s impressive victory.
Equally adept at finishing fights within the distance and racking up points on the judges’ scorecards, Silva will have the opportunity to put his skillset to the test against one of Europe’s most talked about fighters on July 21st.
Already announced for CW 157: London is a huge middleweight title rematch between current champion Mick Stanton and former title holder James Webb, who holds a win over ‘The Huyton Hammer’ from their original meeting in 2020.
Also confirmed for the card are former featherweight champion Jordan Vucenic, and hot prospects Lone’er Kavanagh & Nik Bagley, with more fights and fighters to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets for CW 157 – which airs live on UFC Fight Pass and international broadcast partners – are available now!
