Through PFL Newcastle and PFL Berlin, contenders carried much more than a nation on their shoulders, but the hopes and dreams of an entire league an ocean away. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a grizzly of marbled rock ready to hear his roar ring true and come out of hibernation in the city of lights. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2012 and representing Team Tourcoing, Anthony Salamone holds an 8-1 record in nine pro appearances comprised of three submissions, two knockouts and three decisions. Salamone is 1-1 under the PFL MMA banner with a single finish under his belt in two outings with the promotion. He has finished five out of his eight overall victories over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter. Salamone has gone to the scorecards three times during his time in the professional ranks.
In his MMA debut, he tapped out Chrisophe Saharoui via rear-naked choke in round one. Salamone defeated Mustapha Sane via technical knockout in the first round at Octagon Fighting Club 13. He defeated Jean Phael Promeneur via unanimous decision. Then at Hard Fight Championship 6, Salamone submitted Amar Sadat in the first round via armbar. He tapped out Mahidine Fairneaux via rear-naked choke in round one at European Beatdown 6 to earn his third submission win as a professional. Salamone defeated Paul Marconnie via a split decision at European Beatdown 7. He defeated Kevin Del via unanimous decision at Fight Surpass 1.
On the main card of PFL Newcastle, Salamone defeated Daniel Ladero via technical knockout in the first round.
