Dana White’s Contender Series 59: Oban Elliott Earns UFC Contract

Dana White’s Contender Series returned on Tuesday night with four exciting fights, with three fighters earning UFC contracts.

In the main event, middleweight Zach Reese submitted Eli Aronov with an armbar in the first round. Reese came out strong, landing a number of leg kicks and punches. Aronov tried to take Reese down, but Reese reversed the position and locked in the armbar.

In the co-main event, welterweight Oban Elliott earned a majority decision victory over Kaik Brito. Elliott controlled the fight from the start, landing takedowns and ground-and-pound. Brito had his moments, but Elliott was the more consistent fighter.

Strawweight Josefine Knutsson also earned a decision victory, defeating Isis Verbeek by unanimous decision. Knutsson was the more aggressive fighter, landing punches and kicks throughout the fight. Verbeek tried to fight back, but Knutsson was too much for her.

Featherweight Luis Pajuelo won by knockout in the first round against Robbie Ring. Pajuelo came out swinging and dropped Ring with a punch. Pajuelo followed up with ground-and-pound until the referee stopped the fight.

With three fighters earning UFC contracts, Dana White’s Contender Series 59 was a successful night for the promotion. Here is the results below:
