With former champion Rhys McKee among the latest Cage Warriors stars drafted into the UFC, a bout for the vacant welterweight title has been set for the promotion’s return to London.

CW officials have today confirmed a clash between Team Renegade KO-artist Omiel Brown and Greek finishing machine Giannis Bachar to crown a new 170lbs champion, with the pair set to meet on the main card of CW 163 on Saturday, November 11th at the indigo at the O2 in London, England.

The 33 year old Tunisian-born Greek Bachar, currently fighting out of Athens, shocked CW fans on his promotional debut at CW 154 in Rome.

The kickboxing specialist returned from an extended sabbatical to finish CW and UFC veteran Carlo Pedersoli Jr on the latter’s home turf.

The win was his seventh in a row and his seventh by way of strikes.

Team Renegade’s Omiel Brown has spent his entire professional career in the famous yellow gloves, earning a fearsome reputation as one of the division’s most devastating finishers in the process.

The midlands-based 28-year-old has won four of his last five, all by way of decisive finish, and comes into the November bout hot on the heels of a sure-fire ‘KO of the Year’ contender against Jesse Urholin in July.

“The Draft of MMA doesn’t stop…” said CW President Graham Boylan, “…and with Rhys McKee back in the UFC, its time for two more welterweights to step up and crown the next Cage Warriors champion.”

“Giannis Bachar and Omiel Brown have a 93% finish rate between them, and they’re both coming off career-best performances this year.”

“I’m expecting nothing but fireworks for as long as this one lasts on November 11th!”

Tickets for CW 163 – which will air live on UFC Fight Pass and international broadcast partners – are available now via CageWarriors.com, with further bouts to be announced in due course.
