In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet the latest Texas torch ready to light the match and watch the opposition do a steady burn down for the organization at featherweight. A professional mixed martial artist since June 2021 and representing Blitz MMA, Erique Owens owns a 5-1 record in six contests comprised of three decisions and two knockouts. He is 3-0 under the LFA banner with a single finish under his belt in three appearances with the promotion. Both of Owens’s finishes during his time in the professional ranks have been inside of two rounds. He has gone through to the scorecards three times over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter sweeping them clean across the board in all three of those instances. Owens has spent the majority of professional career in his home state of Texas.

In his MMA debut, he faced Nick Talavera and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision. Owens knocked out Samuel James in the first round. Then in his promotional debut with Legacy Fighting Alliance at LFA 134, he defeated Gunner Coronado via unanimous decision. Owens defeated Jota Ninomiya via technical knockout in round two at LFA 163 to earn his second knockout win as a professional along with back-to-back wins with LFA and his first and only finish with them.

For his third outing with Legacy Fighting Alliance on the preliminary card of LFA 169, he defeated Jimmy Meza via unanimous decision. The win earned Owens the third decision victory of his professional career in addition to his third straight win under the LFA banner in the process. At 5-1 Owens is a prospect that sticks to any opponent like super glue!
