First impressions are everything when prospects are trying to improve their position in front of the man who holds their UFC dreams in the palm of his hand. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to the latest member of the Tennessee trio ready to send middleweights spinning off course with the frightful force of a freight train and the hunger of youth at 24 years old. A professional mixed martial artist since February 2022 and representing Agoge Combatives, Torrez Finney holds an unbeaten 7-0 record comprised of five knockouts, one submission and one decision. Finney appeared on the final episode of season seven of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2023. The majority of his victories over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter have been inside the distance. He has gone through to the scorecards once during his time in the professional ranks sweeping them clean across the board in that instance.
In his MMA debut at NFC Macon fight night, Finney faced Wesley McCracken and went on to knock him out in the first round. He also knocked out Jacob Zogg in round one at Aries Fight Series 9. Then at Ikon FC 4, Finney defeated Justin Dorsey via technical knockout in the first round. He defeated Ivan Batinich via TKO in round three at Ikon FC 5. Finney defeated Caleb Crump via unanimous decision in the main event of Aries Fight Series 16 to earn his first and only decision win as a professional. He defeated El J Portee via technical knockout in the third round at Aries Fight Series Nashville Underground to notch his fifth knockout victory as a professional.
In the last episode of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series season seven, Finney submitted Yuri Panferov in the second round via rear-naked choke. The win earned Finney the first submission victory of his professional career in addition to extending his undefeated streak to seven in a row in the process. Finney may be a southern gentleman on the exterior, but a new animal emerges on the inside once the fists fly!
