With just over 24 hours to go until Cage Warriors hosts a historic first night of mixed martial arts at the iconic RDS, the fighters weighed in on Friday morning at Dublin’s Hilton Garden Hotel.
Both Paul ‘Big News’ Hughes (155.6lbs) and Jan ‘Q-Bomb’ Quaeyhaegens (155.7lbs) came in under the 156lb limit for their non-title main event, a bout that will determine the number one contender to George Hardwick’s lightweight title.
In the co-main event, recent title challenger Yann Liasse and former double champ Mason ‘The Dragon’ Jones both tipped the scales at 155.9lbs.
James Sheehan (169.7lbs) looked fired up for his match against Finland’s Olli Santalahti (170.8lbs). The Dubliner has his sights set on a big home town comeback after falling short against the UFC‘s Oban Elliott in April.
Only Micheal Quinn failed to make weight at the first time of asking, stepping onto the scales at 157.9lbs for his lightweight contest against GB Top Team’s Nik Bagley (155.9lbs).
Following the two hour grace period, Quinn returned to the scales at 157.7lbs. He will be fined a percentage of his purse and the bout will go ahead as scheduled.
