The €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger tournament made headlines worldwide over the past year as some of Europe’s elite battled it out for record-breaking prize money. In 2024, the 16-man European MMA Champions League bracket returns bigger and better than before with new names signed to the promotion who will shake up their OKTAGON MMA division.
It will be the lightweights taking centre stage next year in one of the best MMA fields ever assembled on the continent. OKTAGON MMA favourites will collide with recognised, debuting talent and fans/media alike are already speculating about some of the tantalising matchups that could be in store. Twelve of the sixteen names in the tournament were revealed at the OKTAGON TIME press conference earlier today, December 8, in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Confirmed participants in the 2024 Lightweight €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger:
Ronald Paradeiser (17-8) representing Slovakia
Makwan Amirkhani (17-9) representing Finland
Akonne Wanliss (7-2) representing England
Predrag Bogdanović (14-1) representing Serbia
Acoidan Duque (19-4, 1NC) representing Spain
Mohamed Machaev (13-1, 1NC) representing Austria
Daniel Torres (14-5, 2NC) representing Austria
Miloš Janičić (16-3) representing Montenegro
Marcel Grabinski (23-9) representing Germany
Konrad Dyrschka (16-2, 1NC) representing Germany
Mateusz Legierski (10-1) representing Poland
Vladimír Lengál (6-1) representing Czech Republic
The opening round of the spectacular tournament will go down at OKTAGON 54 on March 2 in Ostrava, Czech Republic, where at least ten different nations will be participating. Following the conclusion of the event, the remaining eight fighters will place themselves on the bracket so some will get to select their opponent for the next round which brought plenty of drama earlier this year.
In total, the project will span five events over 2024 with the four quarter-finals spread across two shows. Both semi-finals will take place on the same card and the highly anticipated final will happen towards the end of the year. Tournament reserve contests will take place during every stage of the bracket so replacements are ready to step into the field if required.
Fan involvement will be at the forefront of the €1 million Tipsport Gamechanger lightweight tournament once again during 2024. Like last year, after each round, fans like to be able to vote for a ‘Lucky Loser’ who they would like to see compete in a future reserve bout with the potential to re-enter the bracket. However, we will be taking fan engagement to a whole new level next year! During the project, the fans will also get the chance to compete for their share of €1 million. More details about this will be announced over the coming weeks.
