Across The Pond Profile: Cage Warriors fighter Tommy Hawthorn

New signings are a key part of the success equation for any promotion looking to have sustainable growth in the long term whether it is international or stateside. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet the latest flamethrower ready to scorch the lightweight division to smoldering ashes for Cage Warriors as the newest organizational signing in the 2024 class. A professional mixed martial artist since March 2022 and representing AVT MMA Leeds, Tommy Hawthorn holds a 5-1 record in six contests comprised of four knockouts and one submission. He has fought for several promotions during his career in the professional ranks including Shock N Awe and Caged Steel. All five of Hawthorn’s finishes during his career as a professional mixed martial artist have been inside the opening round with a 100 percent finish rate to show for it. Hawthorn has never gone to the scorecards at any juncture over the course of his career as a professional MMA fighter. 100 percent of his victories during his time in the professional MMA ranks have come in the span of five minutes or less.

In his MMA debut at Caged Steel 28, he faced Tom Briggs and defeated him via knockout. Hawthorn defeated Lewis Beattie via technical knockout in the first round at BMF MMA 3. Then at Almighty Fighting Championship 29, he defeated Harry Davies via knockout in round one. Hawthorn submitted Kyle Parton in the first round via arm-triangle choke at Combat Challenge 27 to secure his first and only submission win as a professional.

In the main event of Shock N’ Awe 35, he knocked out Kyle Stevens in round one. The win scored Hawthorn the fourth knockout victory of his professional career. He also picked up his fifth win as a professional in the process. Hawthorn is one prospect that illustrates just how dangerous it is to play with fire!
