Destroyed! Conor Ben vs BBBoC & UKAD

In light of recent events, Conor Benn’s career path is now under cloud of question. Benn’s future in boxing is in doubt after the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) and United Kingdom Anti-Doping (UKAD) successfully appealed the National Anti-Doping Panel’s decision to lift his interim suspension.

Benn’s road has been turbulent since his last fight in Britain, which he won against Chris van Heerden in April 2022. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) testing revealed that Benn tested positive for the prohibited chemical clomifene, leading to the sudden cancellation of his highly anticipated fight against Chris Eubank Jr. at London’s O2 Arena in October 2022.

Benn was placed under UKAD’s interim suspension on March 15, 2023, as a result of this setback. The National Anti-Doping Panel lifted the suspension in July of that year, but the BBBoC and UKAD chose to appeal the verdict, indicating a protracted legal dispute.

Benn moved his career to the United States during this time, and he won against Peter Dobson in February and Rodolfo Orozco in September to demonstrate his resolve to compete in spite of the ongoing issue.

According to recent reporting from the Daily Mail on March 26, UKAD and BBBoC’s appeal was successful. The ramifications of this choice are still unclear, especially in light of Benn’s ban based in the United Kingdom being reinstated. Benn’s future in the boxing world is now even more complicated as a result of this development, and observers and fans are both anxiously anticipating more information about it.
