The UFC has unveiled its fight card for the much-anticipated debut event in Saudi Arabia, featuring an electrifying headliner between Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev. Scheduled for June 22, this event marks the UFC‘s maiden voyage to the Kingdom.

UFC CEO Dana White revealed the marquee matchup, highlighting Whittaker and Chimaev’s clash in a five-round main event. Notably, the victor of this pivotal showdown will secure a shot at championship glory. Furthermore, White disclosed that the main card action will be broadcast live on ABC, expanding the event’s reach to a broader audience.

Among the exciting matchups slated for the event are Sergei Pavlovich versus Alexander Volkov, Kelvin Gastelum versus Daniel Rodriguez, Volkan Oezdemir versus Johnny Walker, and Shara Magomedov versus Ihor Potieria.

Whittaker, ranked No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie middleweight rankings, aims to build on his recent triumph over Paulo Costa, having secured a unanimous decision victory in February. With two wins in his last three outings, Whittaker seeks to maintain his winning momentum following a setback against Dricus Du Plessis.

Meanwhile, Chimaev, boasting an undefeated record of 13-0, returns to action after his last bout in September 2022, where he notably defeated former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman by majority decision. With a string of impressive victories, including triumphs over Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland, Chimaev stands as a formidable opponent in the middleweight division.

The eagerly anticipated UFC Saudi Arabia lineup promises an evening of thrilling bouts, headlined by the compelling clash between Whittaker and Chimaev. Fans can expect an unforgettable spectacle as these elite fighters step into the Octagon to showcase their skills and vie for victory.
