Aftermath
Chris Weidman’s win over Bruno Silva has caused upset among the MMA community regarding the eye pokes that led to the former UFC middleweight champion’s victory. Silva and his team’s immediate protest following the replay was not entertained.
A similar set of events unfolded during the middleweight bout between Nursulton Ruziboev and Sedriques Dumas. A replay showed an apparent eye poke from Ruziboev.
Andre Petroski suffered a bizarre knockout loss against Jacob Malkoun, which left fans scratching their heads. Petroski shot for a takedown where he appeared to clash his head with Malkoun’s hip. The now wobbled Petroski was set upon by Malkoun with a barrage of strikes, including a soccer kick to the body, which led to the TKO finish in round 2.
