Chris Billam-Smith is set to defend his WBO cruiserweight title at Selhurst Park, the home of Crystal Palace Football Club, when he takes on Richard Riakporhe on June 15th.
Riakphorne enters the ring as the only man to ever defeat Billam-Smith in a professional bout following their contest back in July 2019 in which he defeated the Bournemouth man via a split decision. The 34-year-old held the British Cruiserweight title for 2-years and is coming off a second-round stoppage victory over French journeyman Dylan Bregeon.
Since their first fight, which featured on the Dillian Whyte vs Oscar Rivas bill, both men have remained undefeated, with the champion currently riding a 10-fight win streak, which includes a title defence over the highly experienced Mateusz Masternak. ‘The Gentleman’ has fought his last four fights in his hometown of Bournemouth, but he will now have to enter enemy territory when he goes to London in an attempt to avenge his controversial defeat.
