Terrence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov: Everything You Need To Know

Share:

Pound for Pound great Terrence ‘Bud’ Crawford looks to capture yet another world title tonight, as he takes on the highly rated Uzbek boxer Israil Madrimov.

The pair are set to collide at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, with Crawford moving up to Super – Welterweight for the first time, following a dominant run in the sports welterweight, super lightweight and lightweight divisions. The 40-0 superstar was originally planning to take on rival Errol Spence in a rematch, but talks soon broke down due to Spence’s post-surgery recovery time taking too long for Crawford.

Crawford then decided to step up and take on 10-0-1 Uzbekistan fighter Israil ‘the dream’ Madrimov. Despite on paper, not having very much experience as a professional, the WBA light middleweight champion known as ‘the dream’ was very established as an amateur, racking up an impressive 79-18 record. The Uzbek man has found his stride as a pro stopping 7 of his 11 opponents, and often demonstrating his ability to stop a fight with his one-punch power.
