Across The Pond Profile: PFL Europe fighter Denis Frimpong

MMA fighters are often tasked with going into enemy territory even though the circumstances and odds are not always aligned with them in victory’s favorite fortune when they put pen to paper on a prospective bout agreement. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a serpent of envious guises ready to take a bite out of the Scottish apple and switch the train to a different track for PFL Glasgow at the Hydro on September 28. A professional mixed martial artist since February 2023 and representing Manchester Top Team under head coach Carl Prince, Denis Frimpong holds a 3-2 record in five bouts comprised of two decisions and one submission. He has fought for several promotions over the course of his career in the professional ranks including Oktagon MMA. Frimpong has spent his whole career as a professional MMA fighter in the United Kingdom.

At Budo Fighting Championship 57, he took on Liam Desol and submitted him in round one to secure his first and only submission win as a professional. Frimpong defeated Jan Siroky in his second outing under the Oktagon MMA banner at Oktagon 52 via unanimous decision. Then in third and final appearance under the Oktagon MMA banner at Oktagon 56, he defeated Callum Mullen via unanimous decision. The win earned Frimpong the second decision victory of his professional career along with back-to-back wins under the Oktagon MMA banner. He also picked up his third victory inside the professional ranks in the process.

In his promotional debut with PFL Europe at PFL Glasgow on September 28, he will face Kunle Lawal in a catchweight showcase affair. Other European talents that are set to be featured at the event include top female prospect Shanelle Dyer, Cage Warriors veteran Jack Grant and Lewis Long. Good luck Denis!
