PFL Europe Glasgow has come to a close at the OVO Hydro, cementing a historical night for Scottish MMA which featured incredible displays of home talent, alongside Europe’s most elite fighters who competed in the PFL Europe Playoff bouts for a chance to fight at the PFL Europe Championships in Lyon on 14 December.   A poetic end to the night came in the form of a Scottish Twister courtesy of Stevie Ray in the very first round against Lewis Long, sending the home crowd wild. In his first fight with his family and children watching cageside, “Braveheart” pulled off his signature submission to the elation of his loved ones and fans. Across The Pond profile PFL MMA fighter Jose Perez

There comes a time in every fighter’s career when the writing on the wall with an organization they rose through the ranks becomes inevitable and they leave the nest of security by joining forces with a new promotion to push their career to second gear. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a panther of prideful steel ready to lunge at his moment of opportunity and seize the day in PFL MMA. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2020 and representing Gilbert Grappling under head coach Danny Gilbert, Jose Perez holds a 9-1 record in 10 contests comprised of five decisions and four submissions. He has fought for Cage Fury Fighting Championships and PFL MMA. Perez has spent his entire tenure as a professional MMA fighter in the United States. He is 1-0 under the PFL MMA banner. All of his finishes over the course of his journey as a professional mixed martial artist have been inside the distance. In his professional MMA debut and promotional debut under the Cage Fury Fighting Championships banner at CFFC 84, he faced Brandon Gaitor and tapped him out via rear-naked choke in round one. Perez also submitted Jacob Dorman via banana split in the first round at CFFC 91. He defeated Nicholas Maupin via unanimous decision at HR MMA 117. Then at CFFC 97, Perez tapped out Jaleon Reid via rear-naked choke in the first round. He defeated Isa Dalipai via unanimous decision at CFFC 102. Perez defeated Paul Capaldo via unanimous decision in the co-main event of CFFC 105. He submitted Frank Wells via rear-naked choke in round three in the main event of CFFC 112 to lock up his fourth submission win as a professional. Perez defeated Chris Vasil in the main event of CFFC 123 via unanimous decision. In his debut outing under the PFL MMA banner at PFL 9, he defeated Jessie Stirn via unanimous decision to score the fifth decision victory of his professional career along with his first win under the PFL MMA banner. He also picked up his ninth victory inside the professional ranks in the process. Once Perez smells a paralyzing fear in his prospective prey, he is in hot pursuit of the winning track with the doggedness of a bloodhound!

UAE Warriors 43 Arabia vs Africa & UAE Warriors 43 results

Angola’s Demarte Pena and Azerbaijan’s Shakhmar Sadygov emerged as victors in their drama-filled main events over two nights of sublime combat sports action at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi.   On the first evening of hostilities, UAE Warriors 43 Arabia vs Africa on Friday 27th of September pitted a variety of intercontinental greats against each other in the Octagon resulting in 11 bouts of non-stop drama that enthralled the packed-out crowd. Jaws hit the floor when Egypt’s very own ‘Golden Boy’ Mahmoud Atef (5-2) knocked-out Iraq’s Issa Salem (9-6) in spectacular fashion with the best KO of the evening. A superb war unfolded in the main event as Angolan bantamweight Demarte Pena (15-2) dominated his foe, Lebanon’s Marcel Adur (18-7) with pinpoint striking on the feet and hellacious ground ‘n pound on the floor to cement his legacy as the greatest lutador from Luanda.   The action continued apace the very next day for UAE Warriors 44 with the international roster keen to not be outshone over the two-day bonanza of mixed-martial arts, a format for which the promotion has become world famous. Certainly the fight of the night belonged to two massive undefeated prospects, Russia’s Gamid Khizriev (5-0) and Iran’s Abdullo Khodzhaev (5-1) who displayed immense courage and granite chins in a highly-entertaining contest. In a difficult night for the judges, it was Khizriev who kept his ‘O’ and handed Tehran’s Tajik tap-taker his first ever loss in a cracking battle. The main event lived-up to all the pre-fight hype as Thailand-based Azeri kickboxer, Shakhmar Sadygov (7-0) took the judges nod over Dubai’s Uzbek Sambo specialist, Jakhongir Jumaev (11-5) in a bout where both combatants had moments of ascendancy and hunted for the finish. With not a single seat in the ADNEC Centre left empty, the crowd screamed in excitement until the final bell after which it was Sadygov who took the split decision.   UAE Warriors 55 promises even more action as the Middle East’s best promotion returns with one of the most stacked cards of the year on the 23rd October live from Abu Dhabi!

Slovenia hosted one of the biggest MMA events in Europe on Saturday, September 28, as BRAVE Combat Federation held BRAVE CF 88. In association with Slovenia’s top MMA promotion, WFC, the event became a major milestone in European MMA, with two new world champions crowned.   Bosnia’s Erko Jun secured the vacant Light Heavyweight World title by stopping Germany’s Alexander Wesner in the main event when Lithuanian heavyweight Pavel Dailidko claimed the inaugural BRAVE CF Heavyweight title by defeating Patryk Dubiela in the first round of the co-main event.   In addition to these championship bouts, the fight card featured top MMA talent from around the world, including a thrilling match between Monika Kučinič and Fabiola Pidroni, which was hailed as a Fight of the Year contender.   The event was the first in Slovenian MMA history to be covered by Kanal A, the country’s iconic TV station and it was also broadcast globally through BRAVE CF’s partners such as DAZN, CAZE TV, and Jio TV, reaching millions of viewers worldwide; making it the largest broadcasting in Slovenian MMA history.   The card also showcased Slovenia’s best MMA athletes, including Kirill Negru, Luka Podkrajšek, and Miha Frlic and with a sold-out arena, BRAVE CF 88 recorded the highest gate revenue in Slovenian MMA, building on the success of BRAVE CF 81 earlier this year.
