Inclusion in the sporting world is becoming increasingly important in the age of social media where it seems that everyone has something to speak about in an ever-changing cultural environment. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a darkened spider of venomous silence ready to slice through the tangled web of confusion at Featherweight for Invicta Fighting Championships and show a wider audience that a dream can be granted in spite of your years after the faithful fruits of toil are harvested and ripened. A professional mixed martial artist since November 2023 and representing Willows Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, Joy Pendell owns a 3-1 record in four contests consisting of two decisions and one knockout. She has fought for Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat in her home state of California. Pendell has spent her entire professional career in the United States. She has a single second-round finish under her belt through four appearances as a professional MMA fighter. Both of Pendell’s decision wins over the course of her journey as a professional mixed martial artist have resulted in unanimous verdicts.
At Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat 17, she faced Jaleen Robledo and went on to defeat her via unanimous decision. Pendell defeated Khaya MacKillop via technical knockout in the second round at Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat 22 to lock up her first and only knockout win as a professional. Then at Urijah Faber’s A1 Combat 24, she defeated Carlene Chandler for the second time via unanimous decision. The win earned Pendell the second decision victory of her professional career. She also secured her third win overall inside the professional ranks in the process.
