Conor McGregor has revealed his plans for a UFC comeback, including a new date, venue, and opponent. After two years of buildup for a return fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303, a broken toe delayed his return to the octagon. McGregor, who has been out of action for three years, had to focus on recovering from the injury, pushing his highly anticipated comeback into 2025.

In the meantime, McGregor has been promoting various combat sports events, including a major Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) night in Marbella. The event featured three world title fights and a post-show concert, highlighting McGregor’s active involvement in the combat sports scene outside of the UFC.

During the BKFC event, McGregor spoke to Bloody Elbow, revealing that his UFC return is now scheduled for February 1st in Saudi Arabia. He also announced that his opponent would be UFC lightweight Dan Hooker, currently ranked fifth in the division. The two met briefly during the event, but McGregor didn’t go into much detail about Hooker, simply calling him “a nice guy.”

However, Dan Hooker seemed unaware of any formal fight agreement. Speaking before McGregor’s announcement, Hooker mentioned he was focused on an opponent for early 2024 but hadn’t heard any official news about facing McGregor. Hooker was in Marbella to support Oscar Willis, who was competing in the BKFC event.

Hooker expressed understanding if McGregor remained busy with his various ventures, stating, “If I had that many businesses and that much money, you wouldn’t catch me near a cage again.” Still, Hooker emphasized he’s ready to fight between January and March, regardless of the opponent, saying, “I always say yes.”

While there’s no official confirmation from Hooker’s side, McGregor’s announcement has sparked excitement among fans eager to see the UFC superstar return. His appearance at the BKFC event also drew attention, as he celebrated the night with celebrities like Xzibit, Kodak Black, and Dizzee Rascal.

With McGregor’s February comeback on the horizon, UFC fans are eagerly awaiting more details to see if his matchup with Dan Hooker will officially materialise.
