BRAVE CF 90: Rasul Magomedov remains undefeated; Magomed-Emin Dadaev gets a breakthrough performance in an epic night in Austria.
BRAVE Combat Federation debuted in Austria with BRAVE CF 90, marking a milestone for the MMA circuit in the nation.
BRAVE Combat Federation’s historic debut in Austria, BRAVE CF 90 is in the books and as advertised, the card delivered plenty of action for the fans in Austria and around the world.
In the main event, Bahraini superstar Rasul Magomedov showcased his dominance by earning his seventh consecutive professional MMA win and remained undefeated. Facing Polish submission specialist Łukasz Olech, Magomedov allowed no opportunity for his opponent to mount any offense as he controlled all three rounds to secure a unanimous decision victory. The impressive win, which comes on the back of his first-round finish at BRAVE CF 87, brings Magomedov closer to a potential title shot in the Light Heavyweight division. In his post-fight interview, Magomedov expressed his desire for a title shot, stating that he has been waiting for the opportunity for a long time.
Austria’s Magomed-Emin Dadaev maintained his flawless professional MMA record by stopping Davlet Karataev in the second round of the co-main event. The first round saw some impressive scrambles from both fighters. However, the intense exchanges appeared to exhaust Karataev towards the end of the round. In the second round, Dadaev took control, secured the mount, and unleashed a series of strikes, forcing the referee to stop the fight; marking a career-defining moment for the Austrian.
Agron Smakiçi made it look easy in the Heavyweight clash against Robert Maruszak. Despite Maruszak showcasing toughness, Smakiçi pressured his opponent with powerful strikes throughout the first round. Maruszak survived the initial round but was stopped early in the second when his ankle twisted following a punch from Smakiçi. The victory extended Smakiçi’s winning streak in MMA to three consecutive fights.
Striking legend Youssef Boughanem remained undefeated in professional MMA by earning a unanimous decision win over Johan Van de Hel. Although Johan nearly secured a submission in the final moments of the second round, Boughanem’s superior striking skill proved to be the difference, as reflected in the judges’ scorecards. The win marks Boughanem’s second consecutive victory in BRAVE CF, following his success at BRAVE CF 83 earlier this year.
Abubaker Soltabiev achieved the biggest win of his career with a dominant performance against Zabiullah Mubarez in their Lightweight bout. Mubarez, who entered the fight after a win at BRAVE CF 87, was unable to counter Soltabiev’s exceptional grappling, which decided the fight in Abubaker’s favor.
IMMAF European champion Songül Karatorak made an impactful professional MMA debut by submitting Polish submission artist Kinga Jendrasik in the first round. Karatorak dictated the fight from the start, secured her opponent’s back midway through the round, and sealed the win with a submission.
After capturing attention with his Santa Claus costume at the face-offs, Rafael Tupy delivered a dominant performance to secure a decision win over Recep Gültekin. Despite moments of offense from Gültekin, Tupy’s superior grappling controlled the fight and earned him the victory.
Dominika Steczkowska secured her first professional MMA win with a split decision over Narges Mohseni after three intense rounds. Steczkowska’s offense from the bottom proved decisive in a closely contested bout, breaking her two-fight winless streak.
Abdulmalik Aliev made a memorable professional debut with a first-round submission win over Anatoliy Adzhamyan, while Emir Can dominated Mihalache Sorin in the opening bout to secure a decision victory.
Held in association with Sparta CF, BRAVE CF 90 was the tenth event of the year for BRAVE Combat Federation and was a record-breaking affair for organization as Austria became the 16th host nation in Europe and the 35th host nation globally; both world records. Next, BRAVE CF returns to the Kingdom of Bahrain on December 13 for BRAVE CF 91 which will be held as part of the BRAVE International Combat Week.
