Navigating setbacks early on in their careers can often spark total reboots in the progressive journeys of Amateur and professional mixed martial artists. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will be introduced to a lioness of Poseidon’s fire creating a storm surge of frothy terror as one of the United Kingdom’s top Amateur pouncing prowlers in the women’s MMA scene. An Amateur mixed martial artist since April 2021 and representing Lions Den MMA under the eye of head coach Dave Matthews, Miriam Grubb owns a 6-3 record in nine contests consisting of four submissions, one knockout and one decision. She has fought for various promotions throughout her career in the Amateur ranks including Cage Warriors Academy Wales, Caged Steel MMA Battle Arena and Golden Ticket Fight Promotions. Grubb has spent her entire career as an Amateur MMA fighter in the United Kingdom and has five finishes in her six overall victories. Her only decision win has resulted in a unanimous verdict.
At Battle Arena 74, she faced Lindsey Payne and submitted her in the third round via rear-naked choke. Grubb also tapped out Lauren Allwood via armbar in round one at Cage Warriors Academy Wales 9. Then at EMMA Four Nations 2023 Day two, she submitted Nadine Abou Saada via armbar in the second round. Grubb defeated Allwood for the second time via technical knockout in round one at EMMA Four Nations 2023 Day three to notch her lone knockout win as an Amateur. She defeated Hayleigh Heather via unanimous decision to score her only decision victory as an Amateur.
At XFC 5 Victorious, Grubb submitted Chloe Gowen via rear-naked choke in the third round. The win secured Grubb the fifth submission victory of her Amateur career. She also earned her sixth win inside the Amateur ranks in the process. Grubb is an extremely skilled tactician whose uplifting attitude in victory or defeat will always bear the freshest fruit no matter the season at the peak of harvest!
