Lazar Todev clashes with Will Fleury for vacant heavyweight title at OKTAGON 68.

A new OKTAGON MMA heavyweight champion will be crowned in just a couple of months time.

It was announced earlier today that Bulgarian tank, Lazar Todev (11-6), will collide with Irish star, Will Fleury (14-3, 1NC), for the vacant belt at OKTAGON 68 in Stuttgart, Germany. Europe’s leading promotion will take over Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle for the second time on Saturday, March 8, with a loaded card that is filling quickly with brilliant contests.

Todev first fought for the vacant heavyweight belt back in November 2023 and lost a very controversial decision to Hatef Moeil, with many thinking he had actually done enough to raise gold himself. ‘The Punisher’ then went on to land an impressive stoppage victory against Adam Pałasz in front of 59,000 fans at the world record-breaking Deutsche Bank Park football stadium show. A scheduled rematch for the title was scuppered at the end of 2024 after Moeil withdrew from the bout but now Todev finally has the chance to prove he is the rightful king of the division once and for all in his new home of Germany.

Newly-crowned OKTAGON MMA light heavyweight champion, Fleury, has wreaked havoc since he arrived in the organisation. After taking out Daniel Škvor and Pavol Langer, the SBG Ireland product defeated Czech superstar, Karlos Vémola, in a grueling, five-round battle to become the first ever Irish champion in the promotion at OKTAGON 65. He has now made the decision to move up a division in an attempt to become a simultaneous, two-weight title holder and once again heads into enemy territory where the crowd will be against him. Will ‘The Fleury Era’ accelerate even more rapidly on March 8?

The event in Stuttgart also features the homecoming of national hero, Christian Jungwirth, who will want to raise the roof off the arena when he takes on Marek Bartl in a welterweight matchup. More announcements about the lineup at OKTAGON 68 will be revealed over the coming weeks.
