Cage Warriors 184: Unplugged is set for Friday, March 14th, featuring a major title fight as Featherweight Champion George Hardwick defends his belt against American challenger Lucas ‘Cassius’ Clay in a five-round main event.
This fight was originally scheduled for Cage Warriors 169 in March 2024 but was delayed. Now, almost a year later, the two fighters will finally face off.
Hardwick Aims for Record-Breaking Title Defense
George Hardwick (12-3) returned to Cage Warriors in September 2024, defending his title for the first time since his dominant first-round win over Yan Liasse at CW 152 in 2023.
In his last fight, Hardwick defeated Christian Iorga, matching the record for most successful lightweight title defenses in Cage Warriors history. If he wins on March 14th, he will hold the record outright.
Lucas Clay’s Big Opportunity
Challenging Hardwick is Lucas ‘Cassius’ Clay (10-3) from St. Louis, Missouri.
Clay, known for his unique buggy choke submission, had an impressive amateur career with a 9-1 record before turning professional. As a pro, he has won ten fights, with four victories coming by submission.
Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan on the Fight
“This is a huge fight to kick off a big MMA weekend in Manchester,” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan.
“For Lucas Clay, this is a massive opportunity to win Cage Warriors gold in his debut. Meanwhile, George Hardwick is chasing history by breaking the lightweight title defense record.”
“They’ve been waiting almost a year for this fight, so I expect an all-out war when the bell rings!”
