An absolutely massive fight in the lightweight division is heading to Munich!

KSW and ACA veteran, Lom-Ali Eskiev (23-7, 1NC), clashes with Irish star, Shem Rock (11-1-1), who returns to competition for the first time in almost a year, on Saturday, May 17, inside BMW Park. Both men are undefeated in the promotion but haven’t faced anyone on the level of each other yet ahead of this mouth-watering encounter at OKTAGON 71.

Before signing with OKTAGON MMA last year, Eskiev was a title contender in some of the biggest organisations on the continent, holding victories over the likes of Attila Korkmaz, Luis Palomino and Dawid Śmiełowski. The UFD Gym product made an immediate impact in the company by stopping European legend, Ivan Buchinger, by knockout in the very first round back in September. He followed that up with a thrilling performance two weeks ago against Wanderley Junior, where he recorded another finish in front of his adoring German fans. The thousands who will be watching on live in Munich will go wild if the 32-year-old can take out his outspoken adversary and cement himself firmly in the title conversation.

Rock has been one of the most controversial athletes ever on the roster, but he’s always delivered whenever he takes to action. The Next Generation MMA team member (who trains alongside Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann) has secured three, first-round submission wins in his most recent outings, continuing his 100% stoppage rate. Rock is no stranger to travelling into enemy territory and silencing the crowd as he finished Jaroslav Pokorný to settle their bitter feud in front of 28,000 booing fans at Eden football stadium, Prague, in his most recent appearance. Love him or hate him, fireworks are always guaranteed when the Liverpudlian steps into the cage!

A big light heavyweight rematch between ‘Ironside’, Alexander Poppeck, and former interim champion, Pavol Langer, also features on OKTAGON 71 and local favourites, Patrick Vespaziani and Gökhan Aksu, are slated to compete in separate bouts. More news about this event in Munich will be revealed over the coming weeks and you can purchase tickets for the show on the attached link.
