Marketing professional Darren Russell has been appointed as the International Director of Marketing Digital and Content for the Professional Fighters League (PFL). Having provided support to the organisation through his independent marketing company since 2019, he will now take on a direct role to enhance the company’s digital presence.
In his new position, Russell will oversee, consult, and implement marketing, digital, and social activations for international events, while also supporting US-based fight nights. His extensive experience in the combat sports sector spans over 11 years, during which he notably launched Eagle FC alongside MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov. Additionally, he has collaborated with a variety of renowned combat sports figures, including Floyd Mayweather, Islam Makhachev, and Cris Cyborg.
Based in the UK, he will report directly to PFL Europe’s General Manager David Green and the Vice President of Global Brand Chris Blumberg, focusing on international marketing matters. Russell is set to play a pivotal role in expanding the reach of the PFL‘s international initiatives such as the Champions Series, PFL Europe, PFL MENA, PFL Africa, and additional events beyond the United States.
