Facing familiar foes has often been the door many fighters have walked through to break away from their binding boundaries while enabling them to evolve and adapt as the popularity of mixed martial arts continues to bridge the gap between generational audiences. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a bowman of the seaside shoreline ready to project his arrow of ascendance in Samurai Fighting Championship. An Amateur mixed martial artist since October 2021 and representing Fightworx Martial Arts Academy, Josh Archer holds a 3-0 record consisting of two submissions and one decision. He has fought for Samurai Fighting Championship and Cage Warriors Academy Wales and has spent his entire Amateur career in the United Kingdom. His only decision win over the course of his Amateur journey has resulted in a unanimous verdict. Both of Archer’s submission victories during his Amateur career have come inside of a single round. Archer has finished two out of his three overall wins during his career as an Amateur MMA fighter. He has gone to the scorecards once during his journey in the Amateur MMA ranks. Archer has two first-round finishes under his belt through three appearances as an Amateur mixed artist thus far.
In his Amateur MMA debut at Cage Warriors Academy Wales 4, he submitted Elis Westacott via rear-naked choke in the first round. Archer also tapped out Alex Icanculescu in round one via rear-naked choke at Cage Warriors Academy Wales to secure his second submission win as an Amateur. Then at Samurai Fighting Championship 6, he defeated Westacott for the second time via unanimous decision. The win earned Archer the first decision victory of his Amateur career in addition to victory number one under the Samurai Fighting Championship banner. He also secured his third win inside the Amateur ranks in the process. At 3-0, Archer’s accuracy and keen marksmanship is increasingly trending towards a dead-on bullseye that leaves foes transfixed with terror when he pulls his bow forward to fire!
