Earning a reputation as a giant killer in the yellow gloves never comes easily for fighters who are willing to carry the responsibility of the burden, even if it means entering enemy territory to complete a victory mission. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a sniper of foxy slyness ready to diagnose Dublin with a case of French fever and ruffle the faithful’s feathers at Cage Warriors 188 on April 26 at the RDS. A professional mixed martial artist since April 2023 and representing Academie Pythagore, Giovanni Fernandez holds a 3-2 record in five bouts consisting of two submissions and one knockout. He is 1-0 under the Cage Warriors banner and has finished all three of his wins during his professional career. Fernandez has never gone to the scorecards over the course of his journey as a professional MMA fighter with a 100 percent finish rate of 100 percent to show for it. All of his finishes during his tenure as a professional mixed martial artist have been within two rounds. Fernandez has two first-round finishes under his belt in addition to a single second-round finish through five appearances in the professional MMA ranks.

At Boom Boom Challenge 3, he submitted Georges Ngoma in round one. Fernandez defeated Thiago Raynde Assis Marques via technical knockout in the first round to score his only knockout win as a professional. Then in his promotional debut under the Cage Warriors banner on the main card of Cage Warriors 180, he tapped out Jimmy Quinn via rear-naked choke in the second round. The victory secured Fernandez the second submission win of his professional career alongside his first victory and finish under the Cage Warriors banner. He also earned his third win inside the professional ranks in the process.

For his second outing with Cage Warriors at Cage Warriors 188 on April 26, he will face the undefeated Ciaran Brady in a battle at Bantamweight. Good luck Giovanni!
