The outspoken UFC lightweight contender, Paddy Pimblett, has once again sparked controversy ahead of his UFC 314 co-main event clash against Michael Chandler. However, this time, the controversy isn’t about his opponent. Instead, he took a shot at another UFC fighter, Arman Tsarukyan, for choking during his UFC 311 title shot.
What Is the Drama That Paddy Pimblett Is Talking About?
During a recent interview, UFC legend Daniel Cormier sat down with Paddy Pimblett. He brought up the idea of fighting Arman Tsarukyan, who was initially set for a title fight but pulled out last minute due to an injury. Pimblett thought about it for a moment before responding with a sharp critique.
“The Baddy” didn’t hold back, saying, “Yeah, Arman’s a little bitch ass. You know what I mean? Cause he’s a little posh boy who’s had everything handed to him, you know what I mean? He has about 40 cars or something.”
Paddy Pimblett later clarified that Tsarukyan received everything without having to work hard for it. “He’s a multi-multi millionaire. He’s never had to work hard in his life. Everything’s been passed down to him on a silver platter,” Paddy added.
The British fighter went on, “He’s had everything handed to him. He even got the title shot handed to him and then he shit his pants, know what I mean? Flopped it.”
Tsarukyan was supposed to face Islam Makhachev for the lightweight championship at UFC 311. However, just before the event, Tsarukyan pulled out due to a reported back injury.
The incident led to Makhachev fighting Renato Moicano instead, winning easily by first-round submission. The 30-year-old believes Tsarukyan’s injury was just an excuse to avoid the pressure of the title fight.
Arman Tsarukyan Responds to Paddy Pimblett
Arman Tsarukyan didn’t stay quiet after Paddy Pimblett’s harsh words. He said Paddy only got to the top in the UFC because he’s popular, not because he’s a great fighter.
Tsarukyan also dared Pimblett to call him out if he wins his next fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 314. He wants to face him in the octagon.
