Paddy Pimblett Eyes Quick Return to Octagon This Year, Possibly in Abu Dhabi

There is a tendency in the UFC for fighters to avoid returning to the Octagon too soon, often taking several months to recover after a fight. However, when they do opt for a quick turnaround, they usually choose a more favorable matchup instead of diving straight into another high-risk fight. But Paddy Pimblett, one of the rising stars, is doing the complete opposite of this trend.

Fresh off his dominant victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 314, the rising lightweight star is already looking ahead to his next fight. The Liverpool native has made it clear that he wants to return to the Octagon before the end of 2025, and Abu Dhabi in October seems like the perfect destination.

Paddy Pimblett’s Statement on His Next Fight

On the It’s Time Podcast with Bruce Buffer, Pimblett talked about his big win over Michael Chandler. He shared how he dominated the fight, even more than past opponents like Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje.

Pimblett didn’t spend much time explaining his fighting skills, since everyone saw his dominance at UFC 314. He left Chandler bloodied and defeated with a TKO victory. While Chandler was badly injured, Paddy Pimblett looked healthy and clean at the end of the fight. This shows he doesn’t need much time to recover and could be back in the Octagon soon.

It’s not just us who think this way; even the 30-year-old Pimblett feels the same. During the conversation, he didn’t focus on past wins. Instead, he’s already thinking about his next challenge. He wants a fight that will bring him closer to a title shot.

According to him, Abu Dhabi in October is looking like the perfect place for that. Pimblett said, “I’ll definitely be fighting again this year. My plan was, even before the fight (with Chandler), I was saying before the fight, is to fight in Abu Dhabi in October. I’ve always wanted to fight they. They always does a pay-per-view there in October. I just think it would be a perfect time to come back then.”

His plan is clear and simple. He wants to recharge over the summer while training every day to stay in shape and keep his weight steady. That way, he can jump straight into an intense fight camp in August without needing to cut a lot of weight or rush his preparations.

Pimblett Also Aims to Outshine Conor McGregor’s Acting Career

In the podcast, Paddy Pimblett also shared his plans for life after the UFC. It’s clear he’s inspired by Conor McGregor. Paddy wants to build a Hollywood career, just like Conor did. But he’s confident he can do even better.

He said, “I’ll definitely be a better actor than Conor,” Pimblett declared confidently. “I’d be in like a serious role, not like just playing a weird version of myself.”
