Liam Gittins vs. Alessandro Giordano Rematch Set for Cage Warriors 191 in Manchester

It’s rematch time in Cage Warriors. The bout between Liam Gittins and Alessandro Giordano ended in a no-contest decision the last time these two rivals met and is about to go down again. During the Cage Warriors 183 event in Rome, a couple of months ago, Giordano was hit in the eye by an accidental punch and the fight was immediately suspended.

On the 28th of June, at Cage Warriors 191 in Manchester, the two fighters will meet again for the bantamweight belt.

The odds are fundamentally the same, with Gittins slightly favourite. Whoever would like to try his or her luck in guessing the winner should keep in mind that the two athletes are pretty much similar in strength, aggressiveness and talent. In any case, for this and other MMA fights, bettors can exploit very advantageous bonuses and promotions, such as those offered by SkyBet that offer incentives to new subscribers to bet on their favourite events. All the MMA fight nights are available on the portal, so a true fighting enthusiast can bet as they please.

Who wants the title more?

Given their similar build and history, the match between Gittins and Giordano could very well end in a matter of wit. Who will desire the win more may obtain it in the end, out of sheer determination. In Rome, the two fought hard before the no-contest call, during a rich night of MMA fighting. Obviously, all the European enthusiasts wanted a winner in that night’s main event, but accidents like this can occur and, usually, make the next fight more entertaining.

Liam Gittins, nicknamed Nightmare, is the current bantamweight title holder in MMA and was called to defend his belt in Rome. He stayed champion because of the no-contest call and will have the chance to add another belt to his waist at the end of June, should he beat the Italian in Manchester. In March, there were some fans not too thrilled by this match-up. Gittins should have defended his title against Shirzad Qadrian last November, but The Lion was injured at that time. Then, in March, he was observing Ramadan, so he could not fight. Gittins, however, was active and the federation found him another opponent.

Giordano is not the number one contender, but the bantamweight from Naples can really stand his ground against anyone, as his streak of three consecutive wins shows.

The Southport native has more MMA experience than Giordano and has been a champion since 2023. This is why the bookmakers favour him over the Italian. The two fighters know each other very well and were in the same ring in March, so they had the chance to taste an appetizer of a bout that will certainly keep the Manchester audience entertained.

Where to watch the clash

As usual, it is not that easy to follow MMA on TV. Those who own a UFC Fight Pass will have the chance to watch the whole CW 191 event live. The others will have to choose from a pretty slim list of international broadcasters. Tickets are available online on Eventim, the official partner of MMA and UFC in Europe, with the typical age restrictions (no entry for under 14s and obligation to be accompanied by an adult for under 16s).

Cage Warriors 191 will bring the fights back to the North West, in a country where MMA is highly appreciated. Gittins will be on his home turf, in England, and this is another advantage for him. However, nobody believes that Giordano will let the environment get to him because he will be too focused on winning the title.
