The beginning of a fighter’s journey can be a roller-coaster process of figuring out where their strengths and weaknesses lie and building them from the ground up by providing the tools to be successful with plenty of teaching moments along the way. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet the latest renegade of the rubble taking shape with a rock-solid foundation at Welterweight for Cage Warriors Academy Southeast. An Amateur mixed martial artist since October 2023 and representing The MMA Clinic Romford, Mitchell Kennedy holds a 2-1 record consisting of one submission and one decision. He has spent his whole career with Cage Warriors Academy Southeast and is 2-1 under their banner. His only decision win has resulted in a unanimous verdict. The lone finish during his Amateur career has come in the opening round with a time of two minutes and 52 seconds. Kennedy has spent his entire career as an Amateur MMA fighter in the United Kingdom. He has one first-round finish under his belt through three Amateur appearances.
In his second outing under the Cage Warriors Academy Southeast banner at CWASE 34, he faced Kenny Mbongo and went on to defeat him via unanimous decision to score his first decision victory as an Amateur. Then at CWASE 39, Kennedy submitted Troy Sudbury in the first round. The win notched Kennedy the first submission victory of his Amateur career in addition to back-to-back wins under the Cage Warriors Academy Southeast banner. He also picked up his second win as an Amateur mixed martial artist in the process. Kennedy’s perseverance through the storm clouds shows that nothing is really set in stone when good fortune flips the narrative in a positive point of direction!
