Rising to the surface level of a major promotion is never designed to be a simple walk in the park in the sink-or-swim world that is mixed martial arts. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a pupil of Poseidon ready to cast a deep drag net and take his foes to the depths of hidden truths and unknown futures. A professional mixed martial artist since March 2024 and representing Deep Water Grappling and Striking House, Jacob Wiggins owns a 5-1 record in six bouts consisting of three knockouts and two submissions. Wiggins has fought for various promotions during his career as a professional MMA fighter including Legacy Fighting Alliance and has spent his entire career in the United States. He has finished all five of his victories over the course of his journey in the professional ranks with a finish rate of 100 percent under his belt to show for. All of his finishes have come inside of two rounds
In his professional MMA debut at WXC 93 March Madness, he faced Jeff Baughman and went on to defeat him via TKO in the first round. Wiggins also defeated Bryan Scott at WXC 94 Summer Assault via technical knockout in round one. Then at WXC 95 Halloween Havoc, he submitted Mike Thompson in the first round via rear-naked choke. He tapped out Decariyie Rosby via armbar in round one to score his second submission win as a professional at WXC 96 Night of Champions.
At WXC 98 Summer Heat, Wiggins defeated Josh Smith via technical knockout in the second round. The victory notched Wiggins the third knockout win of his professional career. He also picked up his fifth overall win as a professional mixed martial artist in the process. The tides can be a warning to those who get in over their head and tread water as Wiggins circles for any flawed opening!
