A professional mixed martial artist since September 2023 and representing SBG Ireland, Gary Rooney holds a 3-1 record in four bouts consisting of two submissions and one knockout. Rooney has finished all three of his victories and has spent his whole career in the United Kingdom. He has never gone to the scorecards during his career as a professional MMA fighter with a 100 percent finish rate to show for it. Rooney is 1-0 under the Cage Warriors banner with a single finish under his belt in his lone outing with the promotion. All of his finishes over the course of his professional journey have been within two rounds.

In his professional MMA debut at Cage Legacy 19, he submitted Moaru Gheorghe via armbar in the second round. Rooney knocked out Aaron Brogan in round one at Clan Wars Fight Night to score his first and only knockout win as a professional. Then in his promotional debut under the Cage Warriors banner on the preliminary card of Cage Warriors 189, he submitted Enrico Di Gangi in the first round via armbar to earn the second submission win of his professional career in addition his first victory and finish under the Cage Warriors banner. He also notched his third overall win as a professional mixed martial artist in the process.

For his second appearance under the Cage Warriors banner on September 27 at Cage Warriors 194, Rooney will square off against Scotland’s Gary Priestly in a Flyweight encounter. Good luck Gary!
