The smaller weight classes are positively proving why you should never judge a book by its cover, based on initial impressions in mixed martial arts. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a rocket-riding renegade sitting straight in the pilot position at flyweight for Fury Fighting Championship. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2024 and representing Peak Performance Watauga, Ricky Rojas sports an undefeated 6-0 record consisting of three decisions, two knockouts and one submission. All of his decision wins have resulted in unanimous verdicts over a period of three rounds and a timeframe of 15 minutes. Rojas is 4-0 under the Fury Fighting Championship banner and has spent his whole career in the United States in his home state of Texas. He has finished three out of his six total wins during his overall arc as a professional MMA fighter.
In his professional MMA debut at XKO 68, he faced Julian Sisco and submitted him in round one to score his only submission victory as a professional. Rojas defeated Javier Duchene via TKO in the first round at XKO 70. Then in his promotional debut under the Fury Fighting Championship banner at Fury FC 108, he defeated Jesus Lopez via technical knockout in round two to earn his second knockout win as a professional. Rojas defeated Sebastian Rodriguez at Fury FC Challenger Series 15 via unanimous decision. He defeated Javier Cepeda via unanimous decision at Fury FC 114,
In the co-main event of Fury FC 118, he defeated two-time Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series season eight alumni Nick Piccininni via unanimous decision to pick up the third decision victory of his professional career alongside his fourth win under the Fury Fighting Championship banner. He also notched his sixth consecutive win to begin his journey as a professional mixed martial artist in the process. At 23 years of age and with plenty of power in the fuel compartment cell, Rojas is a prospect whose rocketing potential shows no signs of plateauing or any drop off decline!
