The best way to deal with the ugliness of a setback is to go back to the drawing board and rediscover the beauty of something that you love. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a cobra of the crashing waves ready to swim with fortune’s tide at Welterweight for Legacy Fighting Alliance. A professional mixed martial artist since December 2020 and representing Synthesis BJJ, Jonathan Piersma owns a 10-3-1record in 13 outings consisting of six submissions, three knockouts one decision and a no contest. Piersma has fought for various organizations throughout his journey as a professional MMA fighter including Combat FC, Cage Titans Cage Fury Fighting Championships and Legacy Fighting Alliance. He has spent his entire career in the United States and has finished nine out of his 10 total wins over the course of his journey in the professional ranks.

In his professional MMA debut at CFFC 91, he submitted Tyler Bunting in round one. Piersma also tapped out Thomas Majeski in the second round at CFFC 94. He choked out Paul Sims in round two via rear-naked choke at Maverick MMA 16 Alphas Collide. Then at CFFFC 111, he submitted Terry Welch in the first round. Piersma defeated Ryan Sanders at NEF 50 via unanimous decision. He defeated Sanad Armouti via TKO in round two at Combat FC 3. Piersma defeated Aaron Trecell at Cage Titans 63 via technical knockout in the first round. He defeated Everet Desilets in round three in the main event of Cage Titans 64. Piersma choked out Jack Congdon via rear-naked choke in the third round at Cage Titans 65.

In the headliner of Combat FC 10, he submitted Chris Perreault via rear-naked choke in round one. The victory secured Piersma the sixth submission win of his professional career. He also earned his 10th overall win as a professional mixed martial artist in the process. Piersma’s sharp stare at even the smallest detail could be a subtle sign that his hawk eyes never lie in clear skies!
