Every opportunity that an MMA fighter fights on his home turf can pack a lifetime’s worth of lessons in a small window of athletic space. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a Longhorn of volumized anger ready to seize a journey-defining moment by either horn by amplifying his outbursts at full blast for Fury Fighting Championship at Bantamweight. An Amateur mixed martial artist since February 2024 and representing 4 OZ Fight Club, Houstin Marza holds a 4-2 record with all of his wins coming via submission. He has spent the majority of his career with Fury Fighting Championship. Marza has finished all four of his victories through six total appearances as an Amateur MMA fighter under his belt to show for it inside the Amateur ranks. He has spent his whole journey in the United States in his home state of Texas. All of his finishes over the course of his Amateur career have come inside the distance. Marza has three first-round finishes inside of five minutes or fewer to go along with a single third-round finish. He is 3-2 under the Fury Fighting Championship banner.
In his Amateur MMA debut at Fury FC Amateur Series 51, he choked out Edward Caldera via rear-naked choke in the third round. Marza also submitted Issac Ray Martinez in round one at Tap or Scrap 8. Then at Fury FC 109, he tapped out Damien Herrera in the first round via neck crank.
At Fury FC 112, Marza submitted Angel Castillo via rear-naked choke in round one. The win scored Marza the fourth submission victory of his Amateur career. He also picked up his fourth win overall as an Amateur mixed martial artist in the process. Marza is a prospect whose tactical logistics show that there are always simple solutions in a complex puzzle problem even though it may require multiple attempts and plenty of thoughtful smarts to crack mystery’s mirror!
