Finding your secure footing when a fighter is an MMA transplant living in another state might not be the easiest of transitions at first glance, but settling into a manageable routine is all but essential between the journey’s first few steps in the storybook. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a Viking of climatic seasonal swings ready to hasten the Winter thaw with a Springtime shock of warmth at Bantamweight for Ignite Fights. A professional mixed martial artist since July 2017 and representing The Academy MN, Reshal Malik holds a 6-5-1 record in 11 bouts consisting of four submissions, two decisions and a draw. He has fought for various promotions over the span of his career as a professional MMA fighter including Legacy Fighting Alliance, Fury Fighting Championship and Ignite Fights. Malik has finished four out of his six total victories during his career inside the professional ranks and has spent his entire journey in the United States. Both of his decision wins have resulted in unanimous verdicts. All four of his finishes have been inside of two rounds.
At Fury Fighting Championship 24, he tapped out Washington Luis via triangle choke in round one. Malik also submitted Ruben Martinez Jr in the first round at Fury Fighting Championship 28. Then at North Star Combat 11, he choked out Jessie Wannemaker via rear-naked choke in round two. Malik defeated Kyles Vang via unanimous decision at LFA 129. He submitted Delfino Benitez in the first round via rear-naked choke at Ignite Fights Mecca 22 to pick up his fourth submission victory as a professional. Malik defeated Edwin Jiminez via unanimous decision at Ignite Fights Mecca 23. The win earned Malik the second decision victory of his professional career. He also secured his sixth overall win as a professional mixed martial artist in the process.
At Ignite Fights on March 21, he will square off against Sam Paneitz for the bantamweight title. Good luck Reshal!
