When the tools of athletic success outwear their welcome in the mixed martial arts world, relocation can often be the answer to a lot of questions when it comes to redefining their sporting purpose and building them back up one fight at a time like the pieces of a puzzle where everything old and new fits into its particular place. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a Northern chiller of frozen over frostiness ready to relight the coals of a career gone icier than a Canadian Winter at middleweight for Unified MMA. A professional mixed martial artist since September 2022 and representing American Top Team, Jonathan Ramsay holds a 7-4 record in 11 contests consisting of four knockouts, one submission and two decisions. Ramsay has fought for Cage Fury Fighting Championships and Samourai MMA. He has earned finishes in five out of seven wins in total and has split his cross-country arc between his home nation of Canada and the United States as a professional MMA fighter in his story so far.
In his professional MMA debut at Samourai MMA 3, he faced Allen Girard and defeated him via technical knockout in round one. Ramsay submitted Irving Mollina in the first round at Samourai MMA 4 via rear-naked choke to score his sole submission victory as a professional. Then at Samourai MMA 5, he bested Colton Boxell via TKO in round one. Ramsay defeated Ramon Gano at Samourai MMA 6 via technical knockout in the second round. He defeated Danny Mallette via unanimous decision at Samourai MMA 7. Ramsay bested Marc Ari Lewis at Samourai MMA 16 via unanimous decision to obtain his second decision win as a professional. He defeated Ash Mashreghi in the first round at Samourai MMA 17. The victory earned Ramsey the fourth knockout win of his professional career. Ramsay also picked up his seventh overall victory in the process as a professional mixed martial artist.
For his maiden outing under the Unified MMA banner on December 18 at Unified MMA 70, he will square off against Hunter Lee in a middleweight pairing. Good luck Jonathan!
