There was some confusion at the recent UFC press conference for UFC 223 when Dana White called the Tony Ferguson v Khabib Nurmagomedov bout would be for the ‘real’ and ‘undisputed’ lightweight title.
However White neglected to say whether the UFC had infact stripped current ‘real’ and ‘undisputed’ champion Conor McGregor.
Well, today the UFC has unveiled a promotional poster for UFC 223 in which they state that the Ferguson vs Nurmagomedov bout is for the world lightweight championship and not the interim belt. This would suggest McGregor has been stripped. However we can only speculate until the UFC confirm.
