In the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, fighters often gain more wisdom and experience as they progress throughout their MMA journey.   In Today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet a fiery Midwest bull who is on a mission to prove to the world that age is not just a number. A professional since November 2007 and representing Chicago Fight Team, Louis Taylor owns a 15-4 record in 19 career professional bouts comprised of seven submissions, six knockouts and two decisions. Taylor has competed for Professional Fighters League, World Series of Fighting Bellator MMA and Strikeforce.

In his MMA debut, he submitted Ricco Talamantes via guillotine choke in the first round. Taylor defeated his next three opponents that included wins over Steve Patterson and Aaron Kreke. Then at Hoosier FC 2, It’s On, he defeated Curtis Bailey via TKO in the first round. Taylor knocked out Ryan Sturdy in the first round via head kick at Bellator 14. At Combat USA, he defeated Jason Louck. At Bellator 84 Taylor defeated UFC veteran Joe Vedepo via knockout in the first round. He submitted Eric Hammerich in round one via guillotine choke at APFC 11 champion versus champion. Taylor also tapped out his next two opponents in Brian Houston and Robbie Gotreau. For his debut outing with World Series of Fighting at WSOF 29, he submitted Cory Devela in the first round via guillotine choke. Taylor also tapped out Phil Hawes via guillotine choke in round two in his second appearance with World Series of Fighting at WSOF 32. At Professional Fighters League Everett, he defeated Zach Conn via unanimous decision.

In the opening round of the PFL middleweight tournament at Professional Fighters League 3 Taylor defeated Brazil’s Anderson Goncalves via TKO in the third round. Still a fierce competitor at 39 years of age, this fiery Midwesterner definitely knows how to bring the heat!
