On both seasons of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, fighters have often battled through the tough times to get to where they are in MMA.

In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two iron-willed battlers whose perseverance has forged their path to success in the sport.

Joseph Lowry

A professional since February 2014 and representing Beacon Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness, Joseph Lowry holds an 8-1 record in nine career bouts as a professional comprised of four knockouts, three decisions and one submission.

Lowry appeared on week eight of season two of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018 and has also fought for Cage Fury Fighting Championships.

In his MMA debut at CFFC 32, he defeated Billy Dee Williams via TKO in the first round. Lowry also defeated Allen Ottow via unanimous decision at CFFC 46.

Then at CFFC 49, he tapped out Andrew Chirico in the second round via rear naked choke.

At CFFC 59 Lowry defeated Bradley Desir via unanimous decision. He defeated Diasuke Yamaji via TKO in round two at CFFC 63.

Lowry also defeated Mike Pope via TKO in the first round at CFFC 65.

He knocked out Richard Patishnock in round one at CFFC 68. The victory also earned Lowry his fourth knockout victory as a professional.

At V3 Fights 69, he defeated Zach Fears via unanimous decision.

With a stellar 8-1 record this eastern dragon hits harder than an iron hammer!

Jacob Kilburn

A professional since November 2016 and representing Harris Holt Martial Arts Academy and Smash Brothers Jiu-Jitsu, Jacob Kilburn holds a 6-2 record in eight career bouts as a professional comprised of two submissions, two knockouts and two decisions.

Kilburn appeared on week eight of season two of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in 2018.

In his MMA debut, he knocked out Kevin Henry in the second round. Kilburn tapped out his next two opponents in Anthony Lorenzo and Elliot Blair.

Then at Valor 46, he defeated Edward Massey via TKO in round two.

Kilburn defeated Elvin Leon Brito via split decision.

He defeated Brito again via unanimous decision at Island Fights 48.

Comfortable with wherever the fight ends up Kilburn is one southern terror who does not mess around when the cage door closes!
