BRAVE Combat Federation continues its tradition of nurturing young undefeated talents and providing them with a step up in competition and a global platform to perform in. The promotion made yet another major move in the open market and has announced the coveted signing of undefeated Bantamweight talent Ilia Topuria.
Born in Germany, but representing Georgia and Spain, Topuria has six victories in his professional career, with all of them coming via submission finishes. Only one of Ilia’s wins came in the second round as all his other five opponents tapped out within the first five minutes.
Topuria fights out of Allstars gym, in Stockholm, Sweden, home of BRAVE contenders Guram Kutateladze and Khamzat Chimaev, as well as MMA stars Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi and is accustomed to fighting overseas.
“Ilia is the latest in a string of incredible talents coming out of Allstars, in Sweden. Along with Guram and Khamzat, Allstars have a real chance of threatening for the Bantamweight, Lightweight and Middleweight titles”, said Yousef Nasser, Head of BRAVE’s Athlete Relations department.
Topuria’s first fight with BRAVE is still in the works, but the signing has immediately strengthened the depth of the Bantamweight division, currently reigned by the first and only world champion of the weight class, Stephen Loman.
