Bellator MMA has shown their muscle when it comes to making female fighters centre stage. A professional since October 2010 and representing Gipson’s Mixed Martial Arts, Julia Budd holds a 12-2 record in 14 career bouts as a professional comprised of six decisions, five knockouts and one submission. Budd is the current Bellator MMA Women’s featherweight champion. She has also competed with Invicta FC and Strikeforce.
In her MMA debut at Strikeforce Challengers 11, she defeated Shana Nelson via TKO in the second round. Budd also defeated Germaine de Randamie via unanimous decision at Strikeforce Challengers 16. In her debut appearance with Invicta FC at Invicta FC 2, she faced Elina Nilsson and defeated her via TKO in the first round. Budd also defeated Danielle West via TKO in round one at Invicta FC 3. Then at Invicta FC 5, she submitted Mollie Estes via rear naked choke in the third round. Budd defeated Charmaine Tweet via unanimous decision at Invicta FC 7. For her debut outing with Bellator MMA at Bellator 133, she defeated Gabrielle Holloway via unanimous decision. Budd also defeated Roberta Samad via unanimous decision at Bellator 146. She defeated Arlene Blencowe via majority decision at Bellator 162. In the main event of Bellator 174 Budd defeated Marloes Coenen via TKO in the fourth round. She defeated Blencowe for the second time via split decision at Bellator 189. For the headliner of Bellator 202, Budd faced Brazil’s Talita Nogueira and defeated her via TKO in round three. The win also earned Budd the fifth knockout victory of her professional career.
