Cage Warriors‘ welterweight tournament finale has been made official as both Jack Grant and Ian Garry sign to fight at #CW125 for the vacant welterweight title.
The welterweight tournament kicked off at CW121 in March, with Garry knocking out UFC alumni, Rostem Akman, to secure his place, while Grant submitted former training partner, Madars Fleminas, to secure the second spot in the finale.
Speaking ahead of the welterweight title fight, Cage Warriors president Graham Boylan said: “This finale is going to be incredible.
“Ian Garry has been the name on everyone’s lips recently, and his KO win at CW 121 just proved why.
“Grant has been around the block a couple of times and this is his third title fight in Cage Warriors, so he has some experience of this sort of situation that Ian doesn’t.”
Speaking after winning his semi-final matchup with Fleminas, Grant revealed: “I just want to fight the best in the world.
“I believe Garry is an absolute stud and I’m excited to go against him.
“I’ll strike with him but at the same time I genuinely believe my jiu-jitsu is by far one of the best on this show.”
Garry meanwhile spoke confidently about the fight, saying: “It’s my belt, I don’t care who’s standing in front of me.
“I’m going to win and I’m going to take my belt and I’m going home as the welterweight champion.”
Coming into this fight, Garry is a perfect 6-0, with four knockout wins and a submission victory.
Grant comes in at 17-6, with all but one of his wins coming within the distance.
Cage Warriors fans will be able to catch all the action of CW125 on UFC Fight Pass and via Cage Warriors‘ global broadcasting partners.
